At the Munich Security Conference, Saudi Arabia's Prince Turki al-Faisal rejected US President Donald Trump's proposal to reconstruct Gaza and relocate Palestinians.
He has proposed a US-led Marshall Plan for Gaza. Prince Turki said Trump's proposal was "unworkable" and instead called on Washington to help rebuild Gaza. He added that Gazans should be allowed to remain in their homeland.
“This is a great option that would consider a final end to the conflict between Israel and its Arab neighbors,” al-Faisal said in an interview with Al Arabiya News’ Hadley Gamble. He suggested that the Marshall Plan, implemented in Europe after World War II, be considered for Gaza. “America rebuilt Europe, the people stayed in their place. They didn’t withdraw from Europe,” he said.
Earlier, Trump announced plans to 'occupy' Gaza and relocate Palestinians. His aim was to rebuild Gaza and create a 'Middle Eastern Riviera' there.
