International Desk:
Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky has left the White House without holding a planned joint press conference after a 'heated' meeting with US President Donald Trump.
He also did not sign a natural resources agreement with the United States.
Fox News journalist Jackie Henrich wrote in the ex-post that Trump kicked Zelensky out – he didn’t leave on his own.
The journalist, citing an anonymous White House official, claimed that the Ukrainian delegation was requesting a "resumption of talks."
But (Secretary of State) Rubio and (National Security Advisor) Waltz told them Zelensky had to leave (the White House grounds).
The meeting between Zelensky and Donald Trump and his Vice President J.D. Vance quickly turned into a public "hostile argument," with the US president accusing Zelensky of "ingratitude and unwillingness" to negotiate an end to the Ukraine conflict.
The idea of a deal with the United States over Ukraine's rare natural resources was initially raised by Zelensky, and the US president accepted the proposal earlier this month.
The two leaders were expected to sign the agreement at a meeting on Friday, but the deal apparently stalled after a "fiery exchange" at the White House on Friday.
The meeting turned sour when Trump told Zelensky that he needed to negotiate peace with Russia. The Ukrainian leader then strongly opposed it, insisting that the United States should continue to support Ukraine.
At that time, JD Vance also joined the argument when Trump commented that Zelensky had failed to show "sufficient respect and gratitude" to the United States.
