Advisor on Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ambassador (Retd) Supradeep Chakma has mentioned that coffee and cashew nuts from the Chittagong Hill Tracts will be recognized as reliable branding of Bangladesh.

The advisor made this statement while speaking as the chief guest at a view-sharing meeting with the chairman, members and officials of the Rangamati Hill District Council at the meeting room of the Rangamati Hill District Council on Sunday (February 9).
In the view-sharing meeting chaired by Rangamati Hill District Council Chairman Kajal Talukder, Advisor Supradeep Chakma further told the members that in the agricultural sector of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, cashew nuts and coffee should be marketed as reliable branding of Bangladesh, and fruits and vegetables here should be processed and marketed through dry machines. In addition, horticulture should be developed to maintain environmental balance. The advisor further said that bamboo cultivation should be increased to maintain environmental balance. In addition, the use of roselle tea as an attractive drink for people should also be increased.
Education in the Chittagong Hill Tracts will be developed to be modern and science-oriented. For this, trained teachers in science, mathematics, and physics will have to be appointed. The advisor expressed the opinion that everyone needs to be empowered in this regard.
Among others, Rangamati Hill Tracts District Council Chairman Kajal Talukder, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Konkon Chakma, Rangamati District Council Chief Executive Officer Khandaker Rizaul Karim, and Senior Assistant Secretary (Assistant Private Secretary to the Deputy Minister) of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Subhasish Chakma were present.
