At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two BNP groups over putting up posters in Baufal, Patuakhali. The incident took place at Banglabazar Chowmatha area of Baufal municipality around 8 pm on Thursday. Among the injured are municipal Chhatra Dal convener Abdullah Al Fahad, Ward No. 7 Chhatra Dal general secretary Sajid, Ward No. 6 Chhatra Dal general secretary Antar, Ward No. 8 Chhatra Dal general secretary Redoan, Barisal Metropolitan Chhatra Dal member Elias and Chhatra Dal activist Kawsar. They have been admitted to Baufal Health Complex. Others have been given primary treatment. Locals said that 20-25 people led by municipal Chhatra Dal convener Abdullah Al Fahad were putting up posters of former BNP MP Shahidul Alam Talukder's public meeting at the Banglabazar area's Chowmatha area. At that time, 30-35 people led by Enayet Hossain Khan, general secretary of Nazirpur Union BNP of the central BNP leader AKM Faruk Ahmed Talukder group, and his son Saiful Islam, a youth activist of the same union, attacked them with iron pipes, sticks and sharp weapons. Hundreds of workers and supporters of Shahidul Alam Talukder immediately took out a protest march in the city in protest of this incident.
