Ujirpur Barisal Correspondent: Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Abul Kalam Azad is the administrator of Bamrail Union Parishad No. 7 of Ujirpur Upazila of Barisal district.
On February 6, the Assistant Director of the Local Government Department of the Barisal District Commissioner's Office, Md. Shahrum Alam Shantur, signed the appointment as the Bamrail Union Parishad Administrator. After the fall of the Awami dictator on August 5, Bamrail Union Chairman Md. Yusuf Hossain Howlader had abstained from all activities of the Union Parishad for a long time. At one time, he gave the responsibility to the reserved women UP member Jahanara Begum and migrated to Saudi Arabia. But as the situation worsened day by day, it became impossible for Jahanara Begum to run the Union Parishad. This hampered the development activities of the Union Parishad. Finally, on February 3, Upazila Executive Officer Md. Ali Shuja organized an emergency meeting. In the meeting, Md. Abul Kalam Azad, an officer of the Uzirpur Upazila Social Service Office, was proposed as the administrator of Bamrail Union Parishad No. 7, under the presentation of esteemed persons. On February 6, Abul Kalam Azad was appointed as the Bamrail Union Administrator through a notification from the Local Government Department of the District Commissioner. Upazila Executive Officer Md. Ali Shuja said that administrators will be appointed in all union parishads where there are problems with chairmen to keep the activities of local government and upazila administration smooth and normal. The public cannot be harassed due to the personal problems of any chairman.
