Coordination meeting held in Sylhet to celebrate Saraswati Puja

A coordination meeting was held on Saturday, February 1, to celebrate Sri Sri Saraswati Puja 2025, under the chairmanship of SMP Police Commissioner Md. Rezaul Karim, PPM Sheba, at the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) headquarters conference room.
At the coordination meeting organized on the occasion of Sri Sri Saraswati Puja, leaders of the Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council District and Metropolitan Committees, leaders of the Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, and leaders of various political parties raised important issues with the Police Commissioner.
They demanded control over activities like fireworks, playing loud sound systems, and making loud noises by trucks during the puja celebrations. They also asked for special vigilance from the administration to maintain communal harmony and avoid any untoward incident.
The meeting also demanded that traffic management on the roads be strengthened and effective steps be taken to prevent theft and robbery so that the puja celebrations can be completed smoothly and peacefully.
The Police Commissioner assured to take necessary action as soon as possible considering the importance of the issues presented. He said, everyone should be alert and aware from their respective positions so that no chaos or untoward incident takes place. If everyone plays a responsible role, then any problem can be easily solved.
