Humayun Kabir Miraj: Like every year, this time too, the annual Puja Fair of the ancient traditional Satya Narayan and Maghi Purnima Ganga Chenan and Narayan Temple was held at Narayan Tala in Kanyadaha village of Ulashi Union in Sharsha Upazila of Jessore.
On Wednesday, February 13th at 1 pm, the puja began with the recitation of the Holy Gita and the offering of Ulu Dhani at Narayan Tala temple premises in Kanyadaha village of Ulashi union of Sharsha upazila, under the chairmanship of Babur Tapas Biswas. Later, people of Hindu community and all religions started coming from different areas one by one and this Narayan Tala turned into a gathering.
Babu Baidyanathdas, president of the Sharsha Upazila Puja Celebration Committee, said that this time the Maghi Purnima Puja of Satya Narayan was held with much more joy than usual.
Rani Mukherjee said, "This time, on the auspicious day of Maghi Purnima in the month of Magh, we are all here together. I feel much better this time than before, seeing the environmental situation."
Md. Shahid Ali, General Secretary of Benapole Land Port Handling Workers Union 925, said in his speech as the chief guest, "I have been watching the Maghi Purnima Ganga Chenan and Narayan Temple Puja Fair at this Narayan Tolar temple for ages."
He further said that Shahidul Islam Shahid, Joint General Secretary of Sharsha Upazila Jubo Dal, has assured that a high-quality staircase ghat will be built for the collection of Hindu wealth at Narayan Tala, so that this event can be celebrated with more pomp next year.
Present at the event were the Maharaj of Benapole Patbari Temple, Sharsha Upazila Puja Celebration Committee President Babu Baidyanathdas, Benapole Land Port Handling Workers Union 925 General Secretary Md. Shahid Ali, Sharsha Upazila Krishak Dal President Amirul Islam, Kanyadah Ward No. 6 BNP President Hazrat Ali, General Secretary Abdul Wahab, Joydev Kumar Roy, Gadkhali Temple Pujari Sanjaband Roy, Krishak Dal leader Milan Hossain, BNP leader Idris Ali Doctor, labor leader Taibur Rahman, prominent businessman Md. Alamgir Kabir, prominent social worker Md. Mintu Biswas and leaders at all levels were present.
