Amid the ongoing political situation, BNP will meet with Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Md. Nasir Uddin. These meetings may take place on Sunday and Monday. This information has been revealed by BNP's media cell sources.
It is learned that a BNP team will go to the Election Commission tomorrow, Sunday, at around 3:30 pm. There, they will meet with the CEC and discuss the roadmap for the next national elections.
Meanwhile, the party is scheduled to meet the chief advisor on the current situation in the country on Monday (February 10). There, BNP will present its position on the overall situation in the country to the chief advisor.
Sources said the decision was made at an emergency meeting of the party's standing committee at the party chairperson's political office on Friday (February 7).
Sources said that the meeting of the standing committee discussed vandalism across the country, including Dhanmondi No. 32, the report of the Reform Commission, and contemporary politics. It was there that it was decided to meet the chief advisor.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will return from America tomorrow, Sunday. After that, a BNP delegation will meet the chief advisor.
Earlier, in a statement signed by senior party leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the BNP expressed concern over the situation that has emerged across the country due to continuous attacks, vandalism, and arson. The party also believes that if the government cannot control these incidents, then the stability of the government will be threatened.
