A coordination meeting on the occasion of voter list update 2025 in Kapasia, Gazipur was held at the Upazila meeting room on Sunday (February 2) at 11 am.
Upazila Executive Officer Executive Magistrate Tamanna Tasnim presided over the function, while Upazila Election Officer Tamanna Rashid moderated the function. Upazila Social Service Officer Ruhul Amin, Upazila Engineer Mainuddin, Police Sub-Inspector Aminul Islam, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Arif Sarkar, Upazila Press Club President FM Kamal Fakir, Journalist Nurul Amin Sikder and others spoke. The registration biometric voter list update program will start from next Wednesday (February 05) and will continue till next (February 25). During this, registration biometric photos of reserve voters will be taken on three days, 26, 27 and 28. Speaking at the function, Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Tamanna Tasnim said that the cooperation of people from all walks of life is needed to update the voter list. Those who will go door to door to collect information must be assisted in providing accurate information. Special attention must be paid to ensure that Rohingyas and Indians do not become voters in any way. In addition, if local journalists, public representatives, and political party leaders are sincere, no Rohingyas or Indians will be included in the voter list. They cannot be voters in more than one place. If this list is compiled correctly, it will help in building a society without discrimination.
