On the occasion of the silver jubilee celebration of the country's most widely circulated daily Jugantar newspaper, which has completed 26 years after its 25th anniversary, food items were distributed among underprivileged families ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
Jugantar Swajan Sambalpur, an initiative of the Tahirpur Upazila branch of Sunamganj, distributed food items to 100,000 underprivileged families in the haor and border villages of the Tekerghat Limestone Mine Project area on Friday after Jumma prayers, ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
Tahirpur Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Abul Hashem, as the chief guest, handed over bags of food items (rice, pulses, potatoes, salt, onions, garlic, soybean oil) to underprivileged family members.
At this time, senior (retd.) teacher Md. Misbah Uddin, Jugantor Swajan Sambal Sunamganj District Coordinator Advocate Shah Alam Tulip, The Country Today's Sylhet Bureau Chief Journalist Emdadur Rahman Chowdhury Zia, Bangladesh Women Journalists Center Sylhet Divisional Branch Office Secretary Habiba Akhter, Asian TV's Sunamganj District Representative Enamul Kabir Munna, Daily Jugantor's Jamalganj Representative Habibur Rahman, Journalist Abdul Mannan. Tekerghat Limestone Mine Project Jame Mosque Imam Mufti Ashraful Alam Habibi, Abdul Mannan, Environment and Social Development Worker Sarwar Jahan, Social Development Worker Abul Hossain, Maulana Habibur Rahman, Hafez Rafiqul Islam Mudha, Maulana Yasin Ahmed, Monir Hossain, Hridoy Mia, Ahmed Ali, Rafiq Ahmed Atiqul Islam, Relatives Dr. Sirajul Islam Raju, Miladur Rahman, members of the relatives' gathering, and people from different walks of life were present.

Earlier, a joyous procession was taken out from the premises of the Tekerghat Limestone Mine Project (Executive Magistrate) office in the presence of the chief guest Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Abul Hashem on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the daily Jugantor, with the participation of invited guests, heads of various educational institutions, journalists, relatives, and people from different classes and professions.
