Sunamganj's Superintendent of Police A.F.M. Anwar Hossain Khan, the godfather of bribery and corruption, has finally been recalled from his post.
On Sunday, the police headquarters in Narchar sat down after a national daily published news in its print and online versions about the Balu Mahal and its involvement in border smuggling, posting trade, and corruption in various sectors, including corruption in various sectors, under the control of fascist Awami League leaders.
On Monday (February 17), an order signed by Police Headquarters DIG (Administration) Kazi Md. Fazlul Karim handed over the responsibility to the next senior officer of the district police and asked SP A. F. M. Anwar Hossain Khan to report to the headquarters on February 18.
SP Anwar Hossain has embezzled crores of taka from the OCs of various police stations including District Sadar, Bishambarpur, Tahirpur, Jamalganj, Madhyanagar, Jagannathpur, Dirai, Chhatak, Doarabazar, DB OCs, DB police, SIs, ASIs and private brokers by harassing innocent people who are not associated with the arrested business and political parties, by threatening cases and arrests.
Several journalists from the district were accused in various cases in Sylhet metropolis at the instigation of Tahirpur Police Station OC Delwar, SP Anwar, and BNP figures involved in border smuggling.
After joining Sunamganj, SP Anwar got involved in the construction of new buildings in two luxurious places in Dhaka through his two brothers. He was accused of getting a BNP worker arrested by taking an iPhone as a bribe. A woman from Tahirpur was humiliated by SP Anwar when she sought justice for the exclusion of the child killers from the charge sheet. The SP took bribes and posted Tahirpur OC Delwar, Madhyanagar OC Sajeeb Rahman, Doarabazar OC Zahid and other OCs of various police stations as accomplices in the theft of cows, coal, cosmetics, drugs, minerals, sand and stones.
SI Abul Kalam Chowdhury, in-charge of Badaghat Police Investigation Center in Tahirpur district, ASI Jabbar, Hanif, SI Abir Das, in-charge of Tekerghat temporary police camp, ASI Kartik and several others were posted to increase income in all kinds of smuggling trade including drugs and even to freely cooperate in the theft of minerals, sand and stones.
His two brothers are involved in the SP's bribery racket. There are also profiteering broker circles in various districts.
