Bilaichhari Upazila - The 90th birth anniversary and 11th Achariya Guru Puja of Ajita Mahath (Dhyanbhante), a silent saint, endowed with many virtues, and the father of many disciples, was celebrated in a colorful manner in Bilaichhari of Rangamati. On Sunday (February 23), this birthday was celebrated with the help of Ajita Mahath's Sevak Sangha, disciples and donors.
World peace and prosperity were wished for in the early hours of the morning. In the morning, the opening song and Panchashil prayers, lighting of the auspicious lamp, Buddha Puja, donation of eight purifications, donation of Buddha images, donation of Sangha, cutting of cakes, donation of pinds and in the afternoon, religious meeting and lamp lighting were held. It is worth mentioning that Ajita Mahather was born in 1935 in Kuluk Pani Chha village in Dumdumya union of Jurachhari upazila. Her family name is Shri Bayanta Tanchangya. Father – Gairamuni Tanchangya, mother – Mayabi Tanchangya. She took her birth on 13 April 1986.
Among the Buddhist monks present at the ceremony were Dharmananda Mahathera, Sakyapriyo Bhikkhu, Abhay Tishya Bhikkhu, Aryananda Thera, Tilak Jyoti Bhikkhu, Gnanavansha Bhikkhu and Chaindyashree Bhikkhu. Also present among the donors were Ujjwal Headman, Nilu Headman, Bharat Chandra Karbari, Siddhartha Tanchangya, Ananda Tanchangya, Nijoy Karbari, Din Nath Tanchangya, Manilata Tanchangya and Mihir Kanti Tanchangya.
Thousands of devotees from various areas including Cox's Bazar, Chittagong, Bandarban, Rangamati and other places rushed to pay homage and seek blessings from this spiritually powerful Buddhist monk. It is also known that a Jadi will be built to fulfill the wishes of the meditator. Its activities have already started and the ground has been cut.
