On Thursday, February 6, at around 8:30 am, it was seen that the house was being demolished with heavy machinery. Up to the third floor of the front part of the house has been extensively destroyed.
On Thursday morning, after the Fajr prayers, many were seen heading towards house number 32. Several people were present in front of the house throughout the night, according to them, they did not want to leave any sign of tyranny. At that time, the people present there were seen expressing joy as different parts of the house were being demolished. On the wall of the house, 'Beware of tyranny' was written in red ink.
After the speech of the dictator Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India, was broadcast last night, the angry students and the public started a massive protest at Dhanmondi No. 32. At one stage, there were incidents of arson and vandalism. The entire area became abuzz with various slogans, such as - 'Delhi or Dhaka, Abu Sayeed-Mughd is the war that is not over', 'Jone Jane Khabar De, Mujibabad's grave De', 'Naraye Takbir, Allahu Akbar', 'Zia's soldiers unite, fight'.
It is worth noting that Wednesday marks six months since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government in a student uprising in Bangladesh. On the same day, the Awami League announced that Sheikh Hasina, who has been in India since August 5, will address a virtual event on the Facebook page of the banned student organization Chhatra League at 9 pm.
Meanwhile, after this announcement, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement reacted strongly. The organization's convener Hasnat Abdullah wrote in a Facebook post, "Tonight, Bangladesh will be free from the pilgrimage of fascism." Before that, content creators Ilyas Hossain and Pinaki Bhattacharya, who are discussed on Facebook, called for a protest by announcing a "bulldozer procession towards Dhanmondi 32."
