The house is located on Road No. 5 in the Dhanmondi area.
It is learnt that the house had been vacant since the fall of the Awami League government on August 5. On Wednesday, students, enraged by the announcement of Sheikh Hasina's online speech, who had fled to India, gathered in front of Sheikh Mujib's house at 32 Dhanmondi in the capital. At that time, the angry students vandalized and set fire to the building. Later, they also set fire to Sheikh Hasina's own house, Sudha Sadan.
The protesting students said, "We do not want to leave any trace of the fascists involved in the student murder on the soil of Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina must be brought back to the country immediately and arrangements must be made for her punishment. The banned organization will not be allowed to implement any program."
