A friendly meeting of the Gaibandha Press Club was held on Sunday under the slogan 'For the needs of the country, live for the youth'. In this meeting, journalists declared their determination to remain united under any circumstances. The program began in the morning at the Gaibandha Press Club premises in Kachari Bazar of the city with the hoisting of the national flag, organizational flag and recitation from the Holy Quran and the reading of the Holy Gita. After that, a colorful procession circumambulated the city. The chief guest of the program was Deputy Commissioner Chowdhury Moazzam Ahmed and the guests of honor were Superintendent of Police Nishat Angela, Gaibandha Municipality Administrator and Acting Deputy Director of Local Government A.K. M Hedayetul Islam, Vice-President Shahiduzzaman Shahid on behalf of the District BNP President, District Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Abdul Karim Sarkar, District BNP General Secretary Mahmudunnabi Titul, District Jamaat-e-Islami General Secretary Maulana Zahurul Haque Sarkar. Gaibandha Press Club President Amitabh Das Himun presided over the program.
At the beginning of the program, Gaibandha Press Club General Secretary Idris Uzzaman Mona gave a welcome speech. Under the chairmanship of Press Club Executive Member Kaiser Rahman Romel, Chief Advisor K. M. Rezaul Haque, Senior Vice President Md. Jobair Ali, Joint General Secretary Syed Roknuzzaman, among others, spoke.
The event honored the distinguished photojournalist Quddus Alam and Javed Hossain, Nur Alam Akand Ripon and Sumon Mia for their courageous role in the July Revolution. In addition, Khaled Hossain's daughter Arifa Khatun, Kaiser Rahman Romel's son Adrit Kaiser Atmo and Mizanur Rahman Raju's daughter Fatima Rahman Rumaiya were felicitated as talented children of journalists. At the end, a raffle draw and a delightful cultural program were performed.
