A meeting of the newly appointed Officer-in-Charge (OC) with journalists working in Baniachang, Habiganj was held on Friday (February 7) night at Baniachang Police Station. Baniachang Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Golam Mostufa presided over the meeting.
Baniachong Upazila Press Club Advisor Qazi Mufti Maulana Ataur Rahman, Baniachong Upazila Press Club President SM Khokon, General Secretary Kamrul Hasan Kajal, Joint General Secretary Makhlisur Rahman Bachchu, Organizing Secretary Zahirul Islam Nasim, Publicity and Publication Secretary SM Khalilur Rahman Raju, Religious Affairs Secretary Maulana Imran Ahmed Osmani, Social Welfare Secretary Maulana Badrul Alam Ansari, Sports Secretary Ariful Reza, Information Technology Secretary Tafsir Mia, among others, spoke under the direction of Baniachong Upazila Press Club Second Officer SI Aminul Islam.
In addition, various officers of the police station and journalists from print and electronic media were present. Baniachang Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Golam Mostufa said in his presiding speech that there are 5 sub-inspectors in place of 15, 6 assistant sub-inspectors in place of 12, and 27 constables in place of 40. In addition, there is one car instead of 2 vehicles. The police station is working tirelessly to improve law and order despite the small number of police personnel in a large upazila and population. He sought the cooperation of journalist leaders to make the police work more dynamic in curbing crime. He sought the cooperation of journalists as well as the conscious people of Baniachang Upazila in curbing all types of crimes including alcohol, gambling, marijuana, yaba, theft, robbery, riots.
