Deepak Kumar Palit, Honorable Trustee of the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust under the Ministry of Religion of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, said, Sanatan Dharma is the first and one of the greatest religions in the world. This religion has emerged since the beginning of creation. Which was in the past, is and will be in the future. Therefore, the philosophy of Sanatan Dharma is intrinsically linked to every living being.
Despite being the oldest religion in the world, Sanatan Dharma is still alive with pride. The generosity and easiness of Sanatan Dharma awakens harmony and compassion among people. Religion is the way of life or system created by God through which, through practice, people can establish a permanent relationship between the soul and the Supreme Soul. Sanatan Dharma speaks of the well-being of all people and all living beings in the world. He also said that the current interim government believes in equal rights and dignity of people of all religions.
The Hindu Religious Welfare Trust carries out various activities including development and renovation of monasteries, temples, shrines and crematoriums, providing scholarships to poor and meritorious students studying from class VI to X, providing financial assistance to the poor and destitute, conducting service and priest training workshops, pilgrimages, and running pre-primary and religious education centers. He said these words while delivering the chief guest's address at the 58th Sanatan Dharma Conference organized by the Kalaujan Sarbajanin Mahotsav Committee under Lohagara Upazila of Chittagong on Tuesday (February 11, 2025) evening.
The main religious discussant at the religious meeting held at the premises of Sri Sri Radhakrishna Temple and Sri Sri Kali Temple in Kalauzan under the chairmanship of Parimal Kanti Das, President of Sarvajanin Mahotsav Udjavan Parishad and conducted by Assistant Headmaster Shankar Karmakar was Professor Swadesh Chakraborty, President of Sri Sri Chanditirtha Medhas Ashram, a prominent theologian and social activist. The special guests were social researcher Sukhmoy Chakraborty, Organizing Secretary of Chittagong District Puja Udjavan Parishad Lion Rimon Kanti Muhuri, Principal Chanda Chakraborty, Chief Advisor of GIMAS Professor Krishna Das, and poet and essayist Uttam Chakraborty.
