A day-long free eye medical camp was organized by Joytun Welfare Trust in South Surma Upazila of Sylhet on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 11 am at the Kingdom Party Center in Renga Hajiganj Bazar, South Surma Upazila.
During this time, free medical services, glasses, and medicine were provided to more than 800 poor and helpless people, and 60 people were selected for surgery.
The program was organized by Rabeya Tahera Majid, Chairperson of Joytun Welfare Trust and presided over by Alhaj Abdul Majid (Lal Mia), Chief Patron of Joytun Welfare Trust. The program was jointly conducted by social worker Abdul Momin, teacher Md. Shahab Uddin Shihab, journalist Ashraful Islam Imran. The Quran was recited by Maulana Imdadul Haque, Imam of Renga Hajiganj Jame Mosque.
Barrister MA Salam, Central International Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP, spoke as the chief guest. The keynote speaker was

The program was inaugurated by a speech and song by prominent Sylheti popular regional singer Shilli, ophthalmologist, retina and laser surgeon, and associate professor at the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital, Dr. Md. Zahirul Islam (Achinpuri).

Various charitable activities are being conducted in various districts of the country including Sylhet with the funding of the main patron of the Joytun Welfare Trust, Abdul Majid Lal Mia, and Chairperson Rabeya Tahera Majid. Today's free eye medical camp has been organized in continuation of this.
