Hazrat Shah Chandrapuri Zaker Kalyan Foundation has distributed free medical services and medicines to 4,000 helpless poor people in Faridpur.
This day-long service program was conducted at Chandrapara Sultania High School and Chandrapara Government Primary School in Sadarpur Upazila of the district on Tuesday (February 25).
People from different upazilas of Faridpur come here from far and wide to receive free medical services.
The medical service activities were inaugurated by the Foundation's Chairman Shah Sufi Syed Kamruzzaman Naqshbandi Mojaddidi at 10 am today. Sadarpur Upazila Executive Officer Zakia Sultana and Sadarpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Abdul Motaleb Hossain were present at the time.
The foundation authorities said that throughout the day, more than 35 specialist doctors provided various medical services to the patients including medicine, gastroenterology, gynecology, rheumatology, dermatology, orthopedics, neurology, cardiology. In addition, they were given free medicines after the diagnosis. Medical services were provided in separate booths for male and female patients. The foundation had its own 1,500 volunteers to manage the medical services smoothly.
Earlier, these service recipients registered at the 'Free Medical Certificate Distribution Center' at Chandrapara Darbar Sharif for three days from February 18 to 20.
Hazrat Shah Chandrapuri Zaker Kalyan Foundation was established in 2004 by the Mujaddid of the time Hazrat Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Abul Fazal Sultan Ahmed Shah Chandrapuri (RA). With the aim of making the poor and working people self-reliant among the devotees and families of Hazrat Khwaja Enayetpuri (RA), thousands of 'Sadaqa e Jariya' (employment arrangements), educational grants, relief (food) during disasters and other assistance are being provided throughout the year. In addition, various philanthropic activities including free medical services and medicines for the general public have been conducted throughout the year.
