A two-day training on healthy horticulture-based recipes for women farmers' groups under the SA CP project for the 2024/2025 financial year, organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension in Kaukhali, Pirojpur, concluded on Thursday, February 13.
25 women from different areas of the upazila who are nutritionally backward participated in the training. The training program was chaired by Kaukhali Upazila Agriculture Officer Soma Rani Das and was attended by Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Deputy Director of Pirojpur District, Department of Agriculture, as the chief guest.
Among others, the training was provided by Kaukhali Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Pradeep Kumar Halder and Government Agricultural Extension Officer Md. Nazrul Islam.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Soma Rani Das said, "The main purpose of this training is how to prepare and eat nutritious food. Eating which will not cause any deficiency in our body's nutrition. We have also taken steps to teach the method of preparing nutritious food through hands-on training."
Shikharani Roy of Betka village in Soyna Raghunathpur union of the upazila and Rasna Begum of Keundia village in Sadar union of the upazila, who participated in the training, said, "We don't know the correct rules and regulations of food preparation. Through this training, we have come to know how to prepare nutritious food and we have learned firsthand what ingredients are in which food."
