Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader's house in Companiganj, Noakhali has been attacked, vandalized and set on fire by anti-discrimination student groups.
The incident occurred at a village house in Basurhat Municipality of the upazila around 1 pm on Thursday.
During this time, a two-story house, tin shed and tin kitchen belonging to Obaidul Quader's younger brother Abdul Quader Mirza were extensively vandalized.
On the spot, it was seen that a water tank in front of the house and an abandoned car were set on fire.
Ariful Islam, Noakhali district coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said that the Awami League and Obaidul Quader's misrule has resulted in this fate today.
