Ghior Police Station has recovered the body of a madrasa teacher named Sumaiya Akhtar (40) with her throat slit in Thakurkandi Paschimpara of Ghior Upazila of Manikganj.
His body, with his throat slit, was recovered from the bathroom of his house at around 8:15 pm on Tuesday, February 4.
The deceased, Sumaiya Akhter Thakurkandi, was a teacher at Zabeda Khatun Darul Uloom Mahila Madrasa in Paschimpara. Her husband, Mostaq Ahmed, was a poultry feed trader at Byljuri Bazar under Ghior police station.
Mostaq Ahmed said that after returning home from the shop at night, he searched around and found his wife missing. Later, with the help of neighbors, he found Sumaiya Akhter lying face down in a bloody state with her throat slit in front of the bathroom in the southeast corner of the house. She was rushed to the Ghior Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared her dead.
Ghior Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said, "The body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy. Legal action is underway. Investigation is underway to identify those involved."
