Pakistan will be the host team of the Champions Trophy, although part of the tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates. The team will try its best to regain the title. Therefore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the squad for the tournament with star players.
The PCB on Friday announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. However, the final squad for the tournament can be changed till February 11.
However, before the Champions Trophy, which begins on February 19, the same team will participate in a tri-nation ODI series, which will be held in Karachi and Lahore. In this series, Pakistan's opponents are New Zealand and South Africa.
Four changes were made to the team for the last ODI series in South Africa. Abdullah Shafiq, Mohammad Irfan Khan, Saim Ayub and Sufian Makim were dropped from the team. Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khushdil Shah and Saud Shakeel were given a chance in their place.
The team will play in Group 'A' in the Champions Trophy and will start their campaign with a match against New Zealand in Karachi on February 19. They will then play against India in Dubai on February 23 and Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on February 27.
