Pirgachha (Rangpur) Representative –
In the Tambulpur Union BNP election in Pirgachha, Rangpur, Ahmed Ali Member was elected as the president, Khalilur Rahman as the general secretary and Refayet Ullah as the organizing secretary. The election was held from 2 pm to 4 pm without interruption at the Tambulpur Dwimukhi High School hall in the upazila on Sunday (February 2). 459 voters from 9 wards voted for their preferred candidates in the election. Upazila BNP convener Aminul Islam Ranga announced the results after the voting. Member Secretary Khandaker Matiar Rahman served as the commissioner in the election. Out of the 459 votes, Ahmed Ali became the president with 236 votes for the umbrella symbol, Khalilur Rahman became the general secretary with 251 votes for the football symbol, and Refayet Ullah became the organizing secretary with 316 votes for the rooster symbol. District BNP Senior Joint Convener Afsar Ali, Joint Convener Mostafizur Rahman Reza, Shariful Islam Dalej, Zakir Ahmed, Abdul Mannan Sardar, Abdus Salam Azad Jewel, members Azad Hossain and Robi Lahiri were present at the election. Also present were thousands of eager people from all walks of life, including district, upazila, union, ward level BNP leaders and activists and leaders and activists of BNP's organ organizations. A workers' conference was held at 10 am before the election with candidates and voters.
