Sunamganj's Doarabazar Police Station has arrested Jubo League leader Kripasindhu Roy, who is a beneficiary of a TCB dealership. He was sent to Sunamganj District Jail by a learned court on Monday. Doarabazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Jahidul Haque confirmed this information. Kripasindhu is the son of the late Kshitindra Mohan Roy of Ambari Bazar in Mannargaon Union of Doarabazar.
He was involved in Awami League politics as a member of the convening committee of Doarabazar Upazila Jubo League. During the tenure of the fallen Awami League government, he took over the TCB dealership by using the influence of Sunamganj-5 (Chhatak-Doarabazar) MP Muhibur Rahman Manik. On that basis, Kripasindhu made a huge amount of money by making cards anonymously and withdrawing goods and selling them to black market gangs. The OC of Doarabazar Police Station said that he was arrested on November 2, 2024 in a case filed under the Special Powers Act.
Kripasindhu's son's case: Kripasindhu's son Kaushik Roy, a well-known person, recently posted a post on his Facebook ID on social media that insulted the Quran. Later, 4 people, including Kaushik, were arrested in connection with the incident.
