Bank of America correspondent–
Researchers at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) presented more than six hundred agricultural research papers in poster and oral presentations. More than a hundred teachers and students from six faculties of BAU participated in the presentation.
The posters and oral presentations were held at several locations across the university, including the Syed Nazrul Islam Conference Room of the BKU on Monday (February 17). Oral poster presentations were also held yesterday during the three-day workshop.

Presentations have been made in 23 technical sessions at the annual workshop on research progress of the Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURS).
Director of BOURES, Professor Dr. Md. Hammadur Rahman said, BOURES was established in 1984, since then a total of 4537 research projects have been completed and 674 research projects are ongoing. 23 technical sessions will be presented at the event and further research plans will be made from them. Later, 21 presenters will be awarded with crests and certificates as session-based best awards. In addition, a total of 6 people will be awarded as best poster presenters in the poster session.
During the event, it was seen that researchers in the agricultural sector are working on new innovations, such as some have worked on various methods to reduce diabetes by applying them to rats; some are working on improving the quality of cattle, milk and dairy products; on the harmful effects of chicken and eggs bought from the market; on diagnosing various diseases of cattle and their solutions; on improving the quality and production methods of organic fertilizers; on various problems and new innovations in crop production; on increasing fish production and greater use of aquatic resources; on developments in agricultural technology; on various aspects of agricultural economics in rural societies, etc.
At this time, a student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Md. Ashiquzzaman, said, "Initial research shows that the poultry we buy from the market also contains coccidiostats in addition to antibiotics. It is believed that this can damage the liver, kidneys, and nervous system of humans. In addition, if coccidiostats enter the body excessively, the risk of high blood pressure and cancer can also increase." The preliminary research was completed under the supervision of Professor Dr. Md. Sahiduzzaman of the Department of Parasitology in collaboration with Nepalese students Dipesh Arial and Asmita Bhujel.
Also, postgraduate student Kazi Farah Tasfia said, "I am delighted to have the opportunity to present my research at BOURES. It has given me the opportunity to exchange views with global researchers, which will pave the way for more effective research in the future. I hope that my work will help bring about positive changes in the agriculture and livestock sectors."
On August 30, 1984, in the 161st session of the University Syndicate, the "Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURS) Ordinance" was approved for the smooth management of the research activities of BAURS. BAURS has been performing all the responsibilities of supervising, managing and monitoring the project-research activities conducted by the teachers and researchers of the university.
