Dr. Md. Atiqul Islam Foundation has awarded scholarships to the passers of the 7th and 8th grade students of the Scholarship Examination-2024 through a simple ceremony.
It is learned that more than 700 students from 40 schools in the upazila participated in the scholarship exam. Nowshin Tabassum, a 7th grade student of Pakua High School, and Lamia Akhtar, a 8th grade student of Nandanpur Radharani Pilot Girls High School, who received scholarships in the Super Talent Pool, were awarded gold medals, scholarship cap gowns, certificates and cash prizes of 5,000 taka.
Five students from class 7 and five students from class 8 who received scholarships from the talent pool were given a cash award of 4,000 taka, a certificate, and a T-shirt, and 40 students from general grades were given a cash award of 3,000 taka, a certificate, and a T-shirt.
On this occasion, a colorful program was organized at the Saflabari Fatema-Maqbul Model Orphanage ground in Dhopakandi Union of Gopalpur Upazila of Tangail on Thursday (February 13) afternoon.
Professor Dr. Md. Atiqul Islam presided over the event, with Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Publicity Secretary of the National Executive Committee of BNP, as the chief guest.
BNP National Executive Committee member Advocate Obaidul Haque Nasir, former Publicity Secretary of Jubo Dal Karim Sarkar, Gopalpur Upazila BNP President Khandaker Jahangir Alam Rubel, Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Muktar Ashraf Uddin, Dr. Md. Atiqul Islam Foundation Vice-Chairman Engineer Abdul Latif, Gopalpur Press Club President Md. Joynal Abedin, along with teachers, leaders and activists of Upazila BNP and its affiliated organizations, spoke at the event.
The event was moderated by Ayez Uddin Azad, director of the foundation.
