After a long illness, Touhidur Rahman Taku, in his fifties, has recovered and is sitting for the entrance exam again. He is now dreaming of studying at the university. On Saturday (February 15), Taku came to take the first shift of the 'B' unit of the Faculty of Arts and Law of Jagannath University for the 2024-25 academic year.
It is known that Touhidur Rahman Toku obtained a GPA of 4.63 in the Dakhil examination in 2022 from Enayetpur Dakhil Madrasa and in 2024 passed Alim from Gayra Tentulia D. M. Fazil Madrasa with a GPA of 4.64.
However, Touhidur's Dakhil and Alim exam registration card shows his date of birth as December 30, 2005. However, his actual age could not be confirmed.
Touhidur Rahman said that his home is in Naogaon district. He did his secondary education at Naogaon Government K. D. School. After illness, he passed JDC, Dakhil and Alim under the Madrasa Education Board. Later, he applied for the university admission test.
He further said, "I fell ill in 1989. I recovered in 2014-15 and started studying. In 2016, when I wanted to take the exam, I was sent to a drug addiction center again. In 2019, I resumed my studies and have been continuing."
He said, "My English preparation is not that good. I will still try. If I don't get a chance at Jagannath this year, I will take the exam at RU and JU next year and get a chance, God willing."
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Rezaul Karim said that there is no legal impediment, but whether he resorted to any irregularities will be investigated later.
