A mobile court has fined two fertilizer traders Tk 8,000 each in Jhenaigati, Sherpur.
The mobile court was conducted on Tuesday (January 4) evening by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Anindita Rani Bhowmik.
The convicted fertilizer traders are Sirajul Haque Molla alias Apollo, owner of Krishi Bitan, and Abdul Hai, owner of Sohel Traders.
According to the mobile court sources, under Section (53) of the Consumer Rights Act 2009, Messrs. Sohel Traders was fined Tk 3,000 for not having a sales register, and Krishi Bitan was fined Tk 5,000 for not having a sales register and a buyer's signature on the sales memo.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Farhad Hossain and others were present at the time.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Anindita Rani Bhowmik confirmed the truth in this regard and said that since this is the pick hour for fertilizer, if fertilizer sellers follow all the rules and sell fertilizer, on the one hand, farmers will benefit, and on the other hand, fertilizer hoarding will be prevented. She also said that such campaigns will continue.
