Representative of Bidhan Mandal (Faridpur):
A journalist was robbed at gunpoint at his home in Saltha, Faridpur.
The theft occurred in the early hours of Monday (February 3) in Paschim Baghadi village of Atghar union of the upazila.
The journalist whose house was robbed is named Saiful Islam. He is the Saltha Upazila correspondent of the Daily Samakal and vice-president of the Saltha Press Club.
Journalist Saiful Islam said, "Our house was robbed early Monday night. The thieves stole my mother's house by holding her hostage with a country-made weapon, Ramda, around her neck."
However, Saiful could not immediately say what the thieves took from the house.
Saltha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ataur Rahman said, "I am not aware of the matter. However, police will be sent to the spot and legal action will be taken."
