Deep tubewell farmers in Rampur village, Mainam Mouza, Mainam Union, Manda Upazila, Naogaon have held a human chain demanding the cancellation of the appointment of the operator and the start of irrigation of the locked deep wells.
Today (February 5), Wednesday at 11 am, this human chain was held in front of the office of the Manda Upazila Executive Officer. This deep-tubewell is located in Rampur village of Mainam Mouza of the upazila. About 300 farmers of that area attended this human chain at this time. The farmers of Rampur village, Abul Hossain, Shahin Alam, Abdur Razzak, Babul Akhter and others spoke in this human chain.
The speakers in the human bond said in their speeches that they demanded that the appointment of the Deep Tube Well operator of Raipur village be cancelled soon and the lock of the tube well be opened and irrigation process started in the farmers' lands. In this regard, Barendra Officer of Manda Upazila Md. Mizanur Rahman said that arrangements are being made to keep the deep tube well closed.
