On January 17, a recruitment test was held at the Shariatpur Civil Surgeon Office for 47 posts. Based on allegations of irregularities in the recruitment, a drive was conducted at the Shariatpur Civil Surgeon Office on Wednesday (February 5) under the leadership of Akhtaruzzaman, Assistant Director of the Madaripur Integrated Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Office. The drive found initial evidence of corruption related to the recruitment. However, the ACC will investigate whether there was any money laundering, abuse of power or anything else behind it.
ACC and Civil Surgeon Office sources said that the candidates who passed the written exam on January 17 had oral exams on January 22, 23 and 26. The final appointments were announced that night. The authorities ordered the appointees to join by January 30.
After the drive, Assistant Director of the respected Madaripur ACC office, Akhtaruzzaman, said that Nusrat Jahan has passed the post of health assistant. Her husband Kabir Hossain is working in the same post in Alwalpur Union of Gosairhat Upazila. Nusrat Jahan hid her husband's identity and got the job under the name of her father. Seven other people participated in the exam in the ward quota where Nusrat Jahan got the job. All of them got higher marks than Nusrat Jahan in the written exam. All of them failed in the oral exam and Nusrat Jahan passed. We feel that there has been some irregularity and corruption here. In addition, the corruption observed by the chief assistant (acting) and storekeeper of this office will also be investigated.
At that time, the ACC team, including Deputy Assistant Director of the Madaripur Integrated Office, Saidur Rahman, participated in the operation.
