Netrakona Correspondent: An uncle was killed by his nephew with a stick in Kendua, Netrakona. The incident took place in Naopara village of the upazila.
According to local sources, Majharul (20), son of Selim Mia of Naopara village, often beat his mother Majeda Khatun in family disputes. Yesterday, Tuesday, the son beat his mother. Unable to bear the torture of his son, Majeda went to her father's house in the neighboring village of Porabari and took the matter to her brother Kanchan Mia (60). That afternoon, the uncle came to his sister's house to discipline his nephew Mazharul. The nephew got angry and hit his uncle Kanchan Mia on the head with a stick, causing him to fall to the ground. Neighbors rescued the injured Kanchan and took him to the Upazila Hospital for treatment. The doctor on duty sent him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital as his condition was critical.
He died at Momke Hospital while undergoing treatment on Tuesday evening.
Kendua Police Station OC Mizanur Rahman admitted the truth of the incident and said that the body of the deceased has been taken to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. The accused nephew Mazharul has passed away. The police are on the alert to arrest him.
