A Farmers Field Day was held in Kaukhali, Pirojpur on Tuesday, February 4 at 11:30 am, organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension, in the field in front of Faruk Mira's house in Subidpur village of Chirapara Parsaturia Union of the upazila, with the aim of increasing crop productivity through agricultural mechanization.
The program was presided over by Upazila Agriculture Officer Soma Rani Das and was attended by Upazila Executive Officer Sajal Molla as the chief guest. Dr. Shahidul Islam, Research Associate of the International Maize and Wheat Development Center, spoke as the special guest. The program was moderated by Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Mainul Huda and was attended by Upazila Agricultural Extension Officers Pabitra Kumar Roy, Swapan Kumar Sarkar, Sakhawat Hossain Tuhin, Syed Fahim, Nayan Majumder, Assistant Agricultural Extension Officer Md. Nazrul Islam, Farmers Faruk Mir, Abul Kalam, etc.
At the event, Research Associate Dr. Shahidul Islam said, "If you sow seeds through a machine, the seedlings are not wasted and it takes less time. The seedbed takes up less space. Besides, if you plant seedlings with the help of a machine, only 7-8 thousand taka is spent on one hectare of land." Upazila Executive Officer Sajal Molla said, "No field can be left empty, we have to increase production." Upazila Agriculture Officer Soma Rani Das said, "We are with the farmers all the time. You will get all kinds of cooperation from the Department of Agriculture."
