A seagull injured by an electric wire has been rescued from Saidpur, Nilphamari. A group of volunteers from Setubandhan Youth Development Organization, an organization working on birds and the environment, rescued it from Puran Babu Para Mahalla of Ward No. 7 of the municipality at 10 pm on Monday.
Earlier, Md. Sayan of the area saw the bird lying on the road and took it home. Later, he informed Md. Meraj Rana who later took refuge in Setubandhan Youth Development Organization. On February 3 at 10 pm, the bird was rescued and kept in a temporary care center for recovery.
Former councilor of Syedpur Municipality Shahin Akhter, founding president of Setubandhan Youth Development Organization Md. Alamgir Hossain, religious affairs secretary Md. Mokaram Hossain, youth affairs secretary Reza, member Shahidul and others were present when the bird was rescued.
