Winter clothes have been distributed among the helpless cold-stricken people in Sylhet under the initiative of Surma Boys Club.
The winter clothes were distributed in the Kalbakhani area of Ward No. 5 of Sylhet city on the afternoon of Monday, February 3.
The chief guest at the winter clothes distribution ceremony was Abdur Rahim Shipon, general secretary of Kalbakhani Rokeya Jame Masjid Committee, a prominent businessman and social worker. In his speech as the chief guest, he said that the poor are suffering a lot in the winter. The wealthy class of the society should come forward to alleviate their suffering. Like every year, Surma Boys Club has been distributing winter clothes to the cold-stricken people since the beginning of winter. He called on other clubs like this club to stand by them.
Surma Boys Club founder Anwar Hossain, vice-president Gopal Bahadur, senior member Abdul Ahad Elis, joint general secretary Rezwan Ahmed, member Masuk Ahmed and others were present at the event.
