Government High School won the opening match of the Prime Bank Young Tigers National School Cricket Tournament 2024-25 in Satkhira by 76 runs.
The opening match of the Prime Bank Young Tigers National School Cricket Tournament-2024-25 was held between Satkhira Government High School and Satkhira Government Technical School and College on Sunday (February 2) at 9 am at Satkhira Stadium.
Organized by Bangladesh Cricket Board, under the patronage of Prime Bank Limited and managed by Satkhira District Sports Association, the opening ceremony was inaugurated by Satkhira District Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bishnupada Pal as the chief guest, Prime Bank Satkhira Branch Head of Branch Jalal Ahmed as the special guest, District Sports Officer and Member Secretary, Ad Hoc Committee, SAJECRIS Md. Mahbubur Rahman presided over the ceremony. Former Joint Secretary of SAJECRIS Mir Tajul Islam Ripon, General Secretary of District Umpires and Scorers Association A.M. Akhtaruzzaman Mukul along with sports enthusiasts and players were also present at the ceremony.
In the opening match, Satkhira Government High School won the toss and elected to bat. They won the toss and elected to bat and managed to score 189 runs in 44 overs and 10 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
In reply to 180 runs, Satkhira Government Technical School and College came out to bat and scored only 113 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 29 overs and 1 ball. As a result, Satkhira Government High School won by 76 runs. Sheikh Johny of Satkhira Government High School took 5 wickets.
Sheikh Asif Kabir Hiron was the umpire in the game, Md. Fazlul Karim was the scorer, and Abdus Samad was the referee.
Tomorrow, a match will be held between Satkhira Police Line Secondary School and Karima Secondary School at the same ground.
