Police have handed over the recovered money, NID, journalist identity card and mobile phone of journalist Abdul Karim Alal, who was killed in a road accident in Sarishabari, Jamalpur, to his family.
On Saturday (February 1) evening, Sarishabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Chand Mia handed over these items to the deceased's wife, Julekha Begum.
On the night of January 30, a CNG-powered autorickshaw coming from Madhupur in Tangail collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound truck. Four people, including the CNG driver, were killed on the spot. Another person died after being taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Among the deceased were residents of Gatepar area of Jamalpur Sadar Upazila and Daily Pallikantha Pratidin Newspaper journalist Abdul Karim Alal was also there. After the accident, Sarishabari police recovered his money, NID, journalist identity card and two mobile phones from the scene.
These were formally handed over to the deceased's family at the police station on Saturday evening. Sarishabari Police Station SI Badrul Alam, police members and relatives of the deceased were present at the time.
