The driver of the Nasimon was killed in a head-on collision between a Nasimon and a Mahindra in Sadarpur upazila of Faridpur. The accident took place on the Sadarpur-2-Atarashi regional road in the Kalikhola area of the upazila on Sunday (February 2) evening.
The deceased was identified as Sanjay Darani (24), son of Binod Darani of Koshabhanga village in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur. He was working as a deliveryman for Ridisha Food and Beverage Company.
It is learned that on Sunday evening around 6 pm, a Nachiman was heading towards Baisharoshi from Sadarpur Bazar. On the other hand, a Mahindra was coming from Pukuria towards Sadarpur. On the way, the Nachiman and the Mahindra collided head-on in front of the Proshika office in Kalikhola area. As a result, the Nachiman overturned and the driver was seriously injured and fell on the paved road.
Later, locals rescued the unconscious driver and took him to Sadarpur Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. It is believed that the driver died on the spot.
In this regard, Sadarpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. A. Motaleb Hossain said that the deceased's father has made an application to hand over the body to them without an autopsy. A general diary was made and the body was handed over to the family in the presence of the deceased's mother, father, sister, uncle, close relatives and local public representatives on a stamp.
