The first Biswa Ijtema in Bangladesh was organized in 1946 at Kakrail Mosque. As the population increased day by day, Biswa Ijtema was organized regularly on the Turag bank of Tongi after the Haji Camp in Chittagong and Siddhirganj in Narayanganj. The center of Biswa Ijtema's final prayer is the last day of the Ijtema. Every year, on the last day of the Ijtema, ordinary Muslims, in addition to Tablighi followers, gather on the Turag bank. The entire Tongi area is filled to the brim. Many people take up positions around the ground since the previous night.
