Shahiduzzaman Shimul, Satkhira: Saraswati Puja was celebrated in Satkhira with various programs.
Saraswati Puja was celebrated at various educational institutions in the district, including Satkhira Government Girls' High School, Satkhira Government College, Satkhira Medical College, Day and Night College, Government Women's College, and Mayer Bari Temple, on Monday (February 3) morning.
Temporary puja mandap were set up in the middle of the pandals in educational institutions from the morning. In all these puja mandap, idols of Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, were installed and teachers, students and common people of the Hindu community offered floral tributes to the mother's feet in the hope of gaining knowledge. Visitors started gathering in crowds at these educational institutions from the morning. They bowed down at the lotus feet of the goddess of welfare to dispel the darkness of ignorance. During the puja, the puja mandap of the educational institutions became resounding with the sound of ulu and conch shells.
Present at the Government Girls High School were the school's headmaster Md. Anisur Rahman, Satkhira Government Girls High School Saraswati Puja Celebration Committee convener Deepasindhu Tarafdar, senior teacher Vivekananda Kabiraj, senior teacher Haradhan Kumar Ais, assistant teacher Tushar Kanti Das, Pallab Mandal and others.
Various cultural competitions including debate competitions, drawing competitions, and Gita recitation are organized for school and college students.###
