Kushtia Correspondent: A shooting incident occurred at the Kushtia office of the Water Development Board. Sunday around 2 pm.
The miscreants fired indiscriminately from outside the boundary wall and fled. However, no one was injured in the incident. This has created panic among the officials and employees.
Upon receiving the information, the police station and senior police officials visited the scene. However, the police have not yet revealed the reason for the shooting.
Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shihabur Rahman Shihab said, "The shooting incident took place around noon. We have inspected the scene. The matter is being investigated. Several police teams are investigating the entire incident. Legal action will be taken against those involved in the incident."
According to the Water Development Board office sources, a workers' conference of the Bangladesh Water Development Board Nationalist Workers' Union was going on in the Kushtia Water Development Board office premises. Around 2 pm, miscreants fired two shots at the office from outside the boundary wall. The miscreants fired from the direction of the Gorai River behind the boundary wall and then fled from that direction. We are terrified by this. We demand that the police and administration find those who fired at such a government office and bring them under the law.
Rashidur Rahman, Executive Engineer of the Water Development Board, Kushtia, said, "At around 2 pm, miscreants opened fire on the Water Development Board office from outside the boundary wall and fled. I cannot imagine who or what caused this incident. The police are investigating the entire matter. We are also cooperating with the police to investigate the incident. We strongly demand that those involved in this incident be brought to justice."
