Shahjahan Ali Manon, Nilphamari District Correspondent: 20 houses have been burnt to ashes in a fire in Nilphamari's Sadar Upazila. The fire broke out in Magura Para, a village adjacent to the border of Kachukata and Ramnagar Unions, on Friday (February 28) afternoon. Eyewitnesses said that some people in the area were threshing paddy with a paddy threshing machine in the afternoon. But the threshing straw was being deposited in a pile of ash and cow dung. The fire started from there. It spread in all directions within a short time. The houses of Safiyar Rahman, Shahidullah, Mashiur Rahman, Sirajul Islam, Santaj Hossain, Abdul Mannan were burnt to ashes.
