Students vandalized the residence of former mayor of Barisal City Corporation and metropolitan Awami League president Sadiq Abdullah in the early hours of Thursday. Around 1 am, more than a hundred activists of the anti-discrimination student movement gathered in front of Sadiq Abdullah's residence on Kalibari Road in Barisal. At one stage, they tried to demolish the building with a bulldozer. However, members of the army quickly arrived at the scene and were able to temporarily calm the students.
