Operation Devil Hunt arrests 5 in Sharsha, Jessore
Monir Hossain, Benapole Correspondent: Four Awami League activists and a fugitive accused in a human trafficking case have been arrested in Operation Devil Hunt in Sharsha, Jessore. They were arrested from their respective homes early Wednesday night, said Sharsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) K. M. Rabiul Islam. The arrested are Awami League activist Khorshed Alam (52), son of the late Punjab Ali Biswas of Matipukur village in the upazila, Rezaul Islam (51), son of Abdul Alim of the same village, Wasim (42), son of the late A. Rahim of Kashiadanga village in the upazila, Moshiar Rahman (48), son of the late Khalilur Rahman of the same village, and Hekmat, son of Rahmatullah Rahmat of Panburi village, a warranted accused in a human trafficking case.

Two farmers die of electrocution in Sherpur
Lalmohammed Kibria: Two farmers were electrocuted in Chattarkandi village of Bajitkhila union in Sherpur. The accident occurred on Wednesday (February 12) at around 8 am when they inadvertently went to work without turning off the power line. The deceased were Mohammad Akram Hossain, son of the late Abdul Latif of Chattarkandi village in Sadar upazila, and agricultural worker Hanif Uddin, son of the late Samej Uddin. According to police and local sources, around 8 am on Wednesday, when farmer Akram Hossain went to connect an irrigation line with agricultural worker Hanif Uddin, Akram Hossain got entangled in the power line.
