Satkhira Correspondent: In Satkhira, BNP's Ward No. 2 general secretary Matinur Rahman Kochi has taken a lease of 18 bighas of agricultural land of a government college at a nominal price without a tender. Local residents said that he was leased to him for just 70 thousand taka for one year without a tender in the dark of night with the connivance of Badrul Millat, associate professor of the college's Bengali department. The government has lost a huge amount of revenue due to the lease being given at a nominal price. The college's tender and purchase committee does not know how the lease was given in the dark of night. Sayedur Rahman, Staff Reporter Ghior Police Station has recovered the body of a madrasa teacher named Sumaiya Akhter (40) with her throat slit in Thakurkandi Paschimpara of Ghior Upazila of Manikganj. Her throat slit body was recovered from in front of the bathroom of her house at around 8:15 pm on Tuesday, February 4. The deceased Sumaiya Akhter was a teacher of Zabeda Khatun Darul Uloom Mahila Madrasa in Thakurkandi Paschimpara. Her husband Mostaq Ahmed was a poultry feed trader at Byljuri Bazar under Ghior Police Station. Mostaq Ahmed said that after returning home from the shop at night, he searched the surroundings and could not find his wife at home.
