Two farmers die of electrocution in Sherpur
Lalmohammed Kibria: Two farmers were electrocuted in Chattarkandi village of Bajitkhila union in Sherpur. The accident occurred on Wednesday (February 12) at around 8 am when they inadvertently went to work without turning off the power line. The deceased were Mohammad Akram Hossain, son of the late Abdul Latif of Chattarkandi village in Sadar upazila, and agricultural worker Hanif Uddin, son of the late Samej Uddin. According to police and local sources, around 8 am on Wednesday, when farmer Akram Hossain went to connect an irrigation line with agricultural worker Hanif Uddin, Akram Hossain got entangled in the power line. Later, when agricultural worker Hanif Uddin went to rescue him, he himself got entangled in the power line, killing both of them on the spot.
