Maruf Sarkar, Reporter: The anti-inequality student movement has formed a human chain at Rajbari demanding the arrest and trial of Dainik Matrikantha editor Khandaker Abdul Matin.
The human chain program was organized by the Rajbari district branch of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in front of the Sadar Upazila Council on Friday afternoon.
The speakers in the human chain said that Awami League spokesperson Khandaker Abdul Matin, editor of the local daily Matrikantha, is a fascist Hasina's agent. He accompanied the murderous Hasina on her trip to the United Nations more than once. For the past 16 years, he has been brokering for the government by hiding the truth and keeping the people in the dark. We do not want to see any more journalists working for any party. Let them publish accurate and fair news. Those who have brokered for the government and discriminated in the past should no longer be able to practice journalism in a discrimination-free Bangladesh. We are declaring Khandaker Abdul Matin undesirable and since he has been engaged in biased journalism, his license should be revoked. The concerned authorities should take legal action in this regard.
Speeches were delivered by Hasibul Islam, Mir Mahmud Sujan, Mirajul Majid Turya, and others.
