At a discussion meeting organized on the occasion of Sundarbans Day 2025 in Satkhira, speakers said, "Sundarbans is my mother, we will not allow it to be destroyed in any way." Sundarbans Day should be celebrated nationally and internationally. The transportation of plastic products in the Sundarbans should be completely banned, the vital trees of the Sundarbans should not be cut down illegally, the forest should be saved from the hands of tigers and deer hunters. Alternative employment should be created for forest dwellers, the collection of fish fry in the rivers adjacent to the Sundarbans should be completely banned, and strong measures should be taken to stop illegal fishing of fish and crabs. Illegal business and forest poaching should be prevented. Above all, no industrial and commercial establishments should be allowed to be built in the areas adjacent to the environment. And ensuring proper implementation of the Forest Conservation Act, the speakers mentioned in their speeches that the Sundarbans should be protected with love like World Valentine's Day.
Sundarbans Day was celebrated on Friday (February 14) morning at the Mangrove Sabhaghar in Satkhira city with the theme "Save the Sundarbans, Stop Plastic Pollution". A colorful rally and discussion meeting were held to mark the day.
In the discussion held on the occasion of the day, chaired by senior journalist Kalyan Banerjee, convener of the Sundarbans Day Celebration Committee, and moderated by Madhav Dutta, executive director of Swadesh and member secretary of the Sundarbans Day Celebration Committee, former principal educationist Abdul Hamid, convener of the District Citizens Committee Adv. Azad Hossain Belal, Adv. Munir Uddin of Uttaran, and assistant director of Sushilon GM Moniruzzaman spoke.
Also speaking were Satkhira District BAS Coordinator Nityanand Sarkar, TIB's new area coordinator Al Amin, journalists Raghunath Khan, M Belal Hossain, Udichir Sheikh Siddiqur Rahman, Suresh Pandey, landless leader Abdus Samad, CID Executive Director Shyamal Kumar Biswas, Bangladesh JSD Professor Idris Ali, Head Louis Rana Gain, Professor Pavitra Mohan Das, District Citizens Committee Ali Nur Khan, Sanak's Rebecca Sultana, Maria Sultana.

At the end of the Sundarbans Day discussion meeting, a colorful rally started from the city's mini market area. The rally circled the main roads of the city and ended at the right place.
