A 'training workshop' on firefighting has been held at Patuakhali University of Science and Technology (PUST) in collaboration with Patuakhali Fire Service.
The training workshop was held on February 13 (Thursday) at 10 am in the conference room of the university's TSC.
The chief guest was the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. S.M. Hemayet Jahan. The trainer was Md. Mostafa Mohsin, Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense Patuakhali. Proctor Professor Abul Bashar Khan, Deputy Registrar Dr. Md. Aminul Islam Tito spoke at the workshop.
The training instructor, Md. Mostafa Mohsin, Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense Patuakhali, discussed the definition of fire, its characteristics, causes of fire, fire extinguishing techniques and ways to protect oneself from fire, and provided everyone with the contact numbers of the Fire Service and Civil Defense.
Speaking as the chief guest, the university's Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. S.M. Hemayet Jahan said, "Awareness and training on fire safety are very important to ensure the safety of our campus. This training workshop will enable our teachers, students, officers and employees to prevent and deal with fire accidents."
Meanwhile, the university's Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam praised the initiative of the Patuakhali Fire Service's firefighting training workshop at Paviprobi and called for the continuation of such activities in the future.
University teachers, students, officials, employees, BNCC and Ansar members were present at the workshop.
